Position Summary
The practitioner functions as a Health Care Provider within the CVICU for the purpose of providing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
This position is open to Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PA-Cs)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•The practice will involve care and management of patients in the CVICU specialty setting. Care will include performing admission H & Ps, plan of care and day-to-day management of CVICU patients. Practitioner will manage (in collaboration with the attending) the entire inpatient course. Practitioner will initiate referrals and follow up on consults to other providers.
•This position will require credentialing through our Medical Staff Services Department.
Qualifications Education
•Master's degree in Nursing or Graduate of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities.
Licenses & certifications
•Current RN license (or eligible) in the State of Texas.
•Physician Assistant (PA-C), licensed in the State of Texas.
•Current CPR/BLS for the Healthcare Provider, and current PALS certification.
•NPs must have Advanced Practice Acute Care or Critical Care Care certification.
