Hi! My name is Betty! My sister Veronica and I were living on the streets outside of Houston and life was really hard. We were just tiny puppies at the time and our mom was no where to be found. We were picked up by Animal Control and taken to the Pound! That is a very scary place and certainly no place for a dog! It was very crowded there and every day we knew we did not have much time left. But one day, our luck changed. Well, sort of. A lady came to the shelter, put us in her car and off we went! She said she would take care of us until we could find our real forever home! We went straight to the vet where we got all our shots, spayed and microchipped. We were just settling in to our new home when one day the lady told us we could not stay with her anymore! Where could we go when we didn't have a home? Lucky for us REDCOLLAR RESCUE learned of our plight and stepped in to help us! They promised to take care of us until we could find a family of our very own! I'm about 1 1/2 years old now, weigh about 40 lbs with soft golden fur, hazel eyes and little pink nose! I'm VERY gentle and polite and a little on the shy side. I like to take walks, chew on my toys and play with other dogs. I can run like the wind and love to have other dogs try to catch me! I've yet to meet a dog I can't get along with - my gentle demeanor wins 'em over every time! It takes me a little while to warm up to strangers but I try real hard to be brave. My foster mom tells me that there is the perfect, patient family out there for me who will give me so much love that I'll forget all about being shy! I know she's right!
