I’m a big, red boy, 7 years old, neutered, heart worm negative and healthy, though I was found as a stray.
My favorite things are: walks, snuggling and being petted. I’m obedient and will “sit” and “lay down” on command. I’m also house trained and crate trained. I may sound perfect but I’m not.
I get nervous on car rides (unless I’m driving). I like other dogs but I’m not a fan of the “sharing” concept. I mean, if it’s mine, why do I have to share? My foster mom disagrees and because I’m selfish and “guard” toys, I’m not allowed to have any. It may sound harsh but I do just fine without them.
You should also know, I have “tootsie troubles”… meaning I don’t like people touching my feet. I don’t know about you but I think it’s weird to let someone you just met play with your feet. Anyhoo, if you try to mess with my feet before I’ve decided you’re trustworthy, I may have to show you my pearly- whites and sing you a little growly song (so you know I’m serious and scared of you.) Between you and me… if you have any type of doggie foot fixation, I am NOT the dog for you.
I’d love to have a doggie brother or sister but depending on the dog and my toy quirk, I might need to be an only dog.
I like children but due to my “guarding” quirk, I probably shouldn’t live with any children- only teenagers and adults.
Despite my quirks, I’m a happy guy. In fact, my foster mom says, “I’m delightful” and it’s true. I’m also an excellent companion and a great watch dog.
To keep me happy and delightful I’m looking for someone to love me and help me learn how to trust again. Can you be patient with me and teach me boundaries without being harsh or yelling at me?
