International Manufacturer of Industrial Products for the Construction and Energy Industries needs a Material Manager on it's Corporate Team.
Develops processes and strategies regarding the movement of materials in and out of the plant. Oversees managers who direct key materials related functions such as purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control, shipping and warehousing.
A. Develops stategies and controls production schedules and inventory levels based on sales forecasts and other commitments.
B. Directs materials staff to insure objectives, schedules, and budgets are achieved.
C. Studies past business cycles and trends, develops specific unit forecast. Coordinates Marketing projections to anticipate business conditions. Develops the Master Production Schedule for all plant
D. Coordinates, implements, and continually improves all aspects of computerized scheduling system.
E. Controls all orders to purchasing and manufacturing functions in the proper sequence and order size based on requirements and scheduling.
F. Responsible for on-time delivery performance and identifying and solving problems impeding on-time delivery for all orders.
G. Controls for managing inventory levels of purchase and raw parts in accordance with plants and corporate goals.
H. Responsible for all material movements and transactions. Ensures necessary training, follow-up, and error corrections are completed.
I. Receives, coordinates, inputs and establishes the manufacturing bills of materials per engineering orders as well as planning add/delete dates on engineering changes.
J. Responsible for the plant purchasing staff involvement in supplier selection, quality, delivery and price of purchases.
Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements · Bachelor’s Degree in
related or supportive major.
· Master’s Degree preferred
· Demonstrated strong experience at directing and/or managing people.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment is absolutely critical and inter-relationship with
other areas required.
· Requires specialized knowledge of manufacturing control systems.
· Expertise in allocation, budgeting, and administration.
· Business acumen in forecasting, marketing, engineering systems, product line structures, and business cycles.
