Our client located in Rosenberg, TX has a need for an Accounting Specialist for a contract to possible hire opportunity.
Reports to: Controller
Position Profile:
The Accounting Specialist’s primary role is to process payroll, reconcile bank statements, ensure that all job costs and general ledger postings are complete and accurate. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Controller to learn higher level accounting tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Process semi-monthly payroll and cut payroll checks
Process and pay all payroll taxes
Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis
Upload positive pay information to the bank
Review all completed customer files for accuracy
Calculate commissions
Answer and return calls promptly
Research data to determine factors required to resolve accounting issues
Produce various monthly reports for managers
Assist office staff as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Completion of 3 college level accounting classes, including bookkeeping, payroll and intermediate accounting, at a minimum, is required; BS in Accounting preferred
Intermediate to advance MS Excel, Word and Outlook skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Professionalism and confidentiality required
Experience using integrated accounting software programs required, Quickbooks preferred
Treat all co-workers and customers with the utmost respect at all times
Strong multi-tasking skills required
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others in an office environment
