Our Midtown area Houston, TX client is seeking a Trading Operations Analyst.
Responsibilities:
Be primarily responsible for identify, investigating and resolving variances between financial and operational trading data including: Gross P&L, Dividends, Interest,
Commissions, Execution and Regulatory Costs
Work closely with the accounting and trading department to manage the trade reconciliation process
Serve as a liaison with organizational leaders and technology teams to optimize and automate the trade settlement process
Produce accurate and timely reports
Other special project and reports as assigned
Essential Attributes
Proven expertise in accounting fundamentals such as reconciliations, settlements, reporting, and data variance analysis
Proven experience driving change in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Mastery of Microsoft Excel
Ability to take ownership of identifying, implementing and executing creative solutions for complex, cross functional challenges
Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships quickly and work in a team environment
Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting required
5+ years of progressively-responsible experience
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
The ability to identify, understand, and apply applicable state and federal regulations
Advantageous Attributes
Experience in a regulated company environment (SEC, FINRA, etc.)
Experience in a Hedge Fund, Investment Bank or Trading environment
Exposure to electronic trading
Rudimentary scripting and programming skills (such as C, C++ or Shell Scripts, Python, Perl)
Masters Degree
